So I guess I'm really moving, huh. After picking up free moving boxes and sifting through a miniscule amount of belongings, I actually felt it sink in. I proceeded to lay on my floor and listen to Josh Ritter for what might be an embarrassing amount of time, which I won't be specific about as to avoid ridicule. But after a good amount of self-pity, I let myself be happy about things to come rather than mope about what I'm leaving behind. Sometimes, all you need is a little self-deprecation to feel better again...
Some things are changing for the better, some will probably change for the worse. In preparation, I compiled a list of tradeoffs...
Peanut butter vs Nutella (OBVVVV)
Folk music vs Eurotechno
Flat sheets vs duvet covers
frozen yogurt vs gelato
caltrain vs U bahn
being surrounded by boys who smell like Dr. Brauners vs being surrounded by boys who smell like Axe
start up folk vs opera singers
taco stands vs falafel stands
road bike vs mountain bike
sedan vs MOPED?!?!?!?!!???!!!
how is a moped a tradeoff? moped all the way! ps this is ellen. i had to sign in with an account associated with a time in my life when i was exclusively going by el. hence.
ReplyDeleteI agree with these things, in the sense that trade-off doesn't mean downgrade. More important than these things, I might add, are the things you don't even know you'll know about - I give the example of Speculoos. I didn't know that anything could be better than peanut butter (obviously far surpassing Nutella); it can be. Oh. It can be.
ReplyDeleteIch freue mich schon auf den Neuigkeiten :)
Ellen!!!! Yeah, like Julie said, they're not all downgrades. I mean, Eurotechno?!!? Defffff an upgrade! Julie, I hope you brought me Speculoos instead of Marmite... And yes, of course there are many things that I can't forsee, those will probably be the best. Also, I forgot the most important thing:
ReplyDeleteTerrible, smelly deodorant for FA REIS DRY!!!!!!! (I ran out about 2 weeks ago.)
